2 month check up!

Wednesday, I took Blake for his two month check-up! He did great and is getting so big. He weighs 10lb 15oz, which puts him in the 25 percentile. The way he eats, I would have thought he weighed more than that! He is 22 3/4 inches long (50%). He is getting tall! His head is 16 cm (50 - 75%), which is still smaller than Allyson's was at this point she was in the 97% until she was one!!! He got three shots and was not very happy about that. Poor baby, I know it hurt and I have never seen him get that red!

Road Trip

We recently took a little road trip! In six days, we drove 1200 miles, went to three cities and visited with family and friends! We had a great time, and the kids did surprisingly well in the car for that length of time. We started in Abilene, then headed to the Dallas area and then to San Antonio!

First stop Abilene! While we were there we went to the Abilene Zoo. It was a small zoo, but very pretty and not very crowded. One of the best parts was getting to feed the giraffe. We enjoyed spending time with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins while we were there!

In Dallas we visited with The Simmon's, The Perkin's and The Woelfel's. It was fun getting to spend a few days visiting with a few friends. We wish would could have seen a few more when we were there, but hopefully we will make it up again soon to see them! While we were there we went to a fun place called Amazing Jake's. (similar to Incredible Pizza) It was fun watching Allyson and Jason play.

Future Bowling Champ!

She gets so excited when she bowls!

Blake enjoying Amazing Jake's!

Our last stop was San Antonio. While we were there, we spent time with family, went to the San Antonio Zoo and spent time cooling off in the pool. Allyson is becoming quite the swimmer. Normally she won't let you let go of her, but she was swimming all over the pool with her floaties. She had so much fun and loved spending time with McKayla!

Pop Rocks and Feathers...

Allyson's Great Uncle Mike is always so sweet and sends her little packages in the mail. She loves getting mail and always loves opening the big gray envelope he sends. She rips it open excited to see what fun thing he is sending. Most of the time it is something pretty tame, coloring books, colors, stickers, sunglasses, but I always hold my breath when until I see what is in the package!!! A few less than tame items include: confetti eggs, Pop Rock candy and feathers!!! Thank you U. Mike for all the sweet little gifts you send!

4th of July Fun!!!

This morning Allyson and I were watching Good Morning America and they said something about America. She said "Mommy, they said America, today is America's birthday!" I told her she was right, and asked where she learned that. She said, school. My teacher teached me that.
Today, we had Nana, Poppa and Grandma Nicholls over for lunch. We enjoyed spending time with them and they enjoyed watching Allyson play on her new waterslide. Tonight, Grandma and PeePaw got back from a 17 day trip! They stopped by for dinner and brought goodies to the kids from abroad! We had a great 4th of July!

Happy First 4th of July Blake!

Allyson and Hoppy her Build-a-Bear Bunny in matching dresses! When I pulled it out of the closet she was so excited about her new dress, and even more excited when she saw that it had a dress for her doll.

My pretty girl!

Nana and Allyson in there 4th of July clothes!
Today, we set up a waterslide for Allyson to play on. She slid down it once, got water in her face, and didn't want to slide any more. She just wanted to play in the water at the end. Finally, she tried it again, but wanted Nana or Daddy to hold her hand. Soon enough she was doing it all by herself! She had so much fun today.

Lizzie was very concerned about all the screaming Allyson was doing! She was having so much fun, but Lizzie didn't like that she couldn't see what was going on.

Princess Dress

Allyson rediscovered her Easter dress, renamed her princess dress. Easter day I couldn't get her
to leave it on long enough to get a good picture. She said it was scratchy. I guess it isn't any more. She plays in it all the time, and had to wear it to church Sunday! She looked fancy.

Such a good big sister!

Allyson wore her big sister necklace to church. She was so proud of it!
Sweet and sassy!

Poor Old Gretchen

Poor old Gretchen started getting gray hair when Allyson was born, but is getting even more gray hair now that Blake is here! Gretchen keeps pretty close tabs on him, and didn't like that he was crying. I think she was trying to sniff out what was causing him to be so upset!

Like Daddy

Jason brought Allyson a suprise this morning. He got her a station t-shirt like his. Allyson was excited to have one like her daddy. She even need to put on blue pants like him.

Dinner time...

The other night, I told Allyson to go clean her room up. She had been playing in it all day and it was a mess. You could hardly see the carpet! I heard what I thought was cleaning, but to my surprise she was getting more stuff out. She had dishes out and had set her the table. I was very impressed by the fact that she put place mats under the plates! She even made sure her hippo had dishes! She was so proud of herself! These are the little things that you don't realize kids pick up on. Allyson is so observant, and doesn't miss anything!
